As a Senior Project Manager at Capital One, you will drive strategy and lead execution for high-priority initiatives across the business. Partnering with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders, you will tackle complex challenges and deliver impactful results that directly drive business performance. In this role within our Experience Platforms Top of House team, you will oversee end-to-end program management for critical initiatives. You will provide operational governance and execution control across key initiatives by owning and driving stakeholder engagement, timeline risk and dependency management, communication flows, synthesizing strategic insights for senior leadership and core project operations.

General Responsibilities

• Lead large, complex programs by providing strategic direction and tactical guidance to project teams, peers, and direct reports.

• Design, develop, and manage comprehensive project plans, dynamically adapting strategies to meet evolving business requirements.

• Ensure rigorous project documentation and governance to mitigate risk, ensure compliance, and maintain on-time delivery.

• Leverage advanced problem-solving and influencing skills to align stakeholder goals and ensure execution matches strategic intent.

• Partner cross-functionally with key stakeholders to offer thought leadership, streamline communication, and drive successful deliverables.

• Build collaborative relationships across organizational boundaries to secure buy-in and achieve shared commitments.

• Manage, mentor, and foster the professional development of a high-performing team of project managers.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

• At least 7 years of project management experience

• At least 1 year of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters Degree

• 10+ years of Project Management experience

• 3+ years of People Management experience 

• PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

• Experience with software programs or projects

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $177,700 - $202,800 for Sr Manager, Project Management

Richmond, VA: $161,500 - $184,300 for Sr Manager, Project Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
