Responsibilities will include managing ecological surveys, producing technical reports, supporting planning applications, and mentoring junior team members.The role offers a balance of fieldwork, project management, client liaison, and technical delivery, with opportunities to contribute to business growth and team development.Managing and delivering ecological projects from inception through to completionUndertaking and overseeing protected species and habitat surveysPreparing high-quality technical reports including PEAs, EcIAs, BNG assessments, and mitigation strategiesProviding ecological advice to clients, planners, and project teamsSupporting project management, budgeting, and programme deliveryMentoring junior ecologists and assisting with team developmentMaintaining strong client relationships and identifying new business opportunitiesDegree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related disciplineSignificant consultancy experience within the UK ecology sectorStrong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policyExperience managing projects and coordinating survey programmesProtected species survey licences desirableCIEEM membership preferredExcellent report writing and communication skillsFull UK driving licenceThis position would suit an ambitious ecologist seeking greater responsibility, varied project exposure, and long-term career progression within a growing consultancy.Interested in this opportunity?
