Job Description: Interventional Radiology & Special Procedures

Work Setting Skills Required: Interventional Radiology & Special Procedures, Equipment/Operation/Maintenance Skills Required: Maintains equipment, PACS & Stocks supplies

Abdominal and Pelvic Skills Required: Angioplasty, Chemoembolization, Embolization, Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) filter placement, Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) filter removal, Inferior vena cavagram, Mesenteric Angiogram, Pelvic angiography, Percutaneous Hepatic Angiography, Renal Angiography, Selective visceral angiography & Superior vena cavogram

Genitourinary Studies/Procedures Skills Required: Angiography of genitourinary system, Catheter/drain exchange, Cholecystostomy, Embolization, Gastrostomy, Internal/external biliary drainage, Nephrostomy, Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram, Renal Angiography, Ureteral Stent Placement & Uterine Arterial Embolization

Neurological Studies/Procedures Skills Required: Carotid Angiography, Embolization, Stent placement, Thrombolysis/Thrombectomy & Vertebroplasty

Vascular Studies/Procedures Skills Required: Angioplasty, Carotid Stenting, Central Venous Access/Port Placement, Thrombolysis/Thrombectomy & TIPS (Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt)

Venous Access Skills Required: Central Venous Access (non-Tunneled/PICC lines)

Equipment and Devices Skills Required: Fluoroscopy

Procedural Responsibilities Skills Required: Equipment set up, Prep access site, Room circulator & Scrub- maintain sterile field

Professional Knowledge and Skills Required: 3D imaging, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Lead tech experience & Use of Rapid Response/Code teams

Infection Control Skills Required: Sterile Technique

Certs: ARRT & BLS PREFERRED

Avg. Daily Census: 450; Visits/Day: 20; Rooms: 3; Beds: 650

Shift: 40 Hours Can Be Offered, Will Accept 13 Weeks, 8-Hour Days; 08:30 - 17:00; Monday - Friday

Call Requirement: Yes. One day per week; 1. We have a call schedule our team follows so they are on a rotation-Tuesday, Thursday, Monday, Wednesday, Weekend

Float Requirement: NONE, Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend every 6-7 weeks

Special Procedures/Unit Details: Stroke Intervention, Intracranial Embolization, Kyphoplasty, Carotid & Vertebral Stent, Nephrostomy, Biliary Placement, Chemo Embolization, Therasphere Mapping & Infusion, Mesenteric Angiogram, UAE, GAE, PAE, Chest Port, Perm Cath Placement

Special Equipment: Fluoroscopy REQUIRED, GE Innova Single Plane & Siemens Artis Biplane X 2

Unit Systems: Pyxis, EPIC REQUIRED

Scheduling Type: FOR ALL TECHS:***The expected start date is based on Novant s schedule but is subject to change depending on class and trainer availability. Travelers may start on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of the first week, and must be fully available with no other commitments to accommodate any schedule changes. Missing any portion of orientation may result in a delayed or canceled start.***Novant will confirm the final start date on the Tuesday prior to the start week.

Unit Orientation: 40 hours. SCRUBS: Not Provided. Light Blue.
