Overview Principal Additive Manufacturing Process Engineer at RTX Corporation, East Hartford, CT. The position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. Responsibilities Lead process development activity to improve print capability, increase speed, reduce cost and enhance material performance in support of advanced RTX Business Unit product initiatives. Drive AM qualification efforts utilizing IQ, OQ and MQ with a strong collaborative RTX Business Unit cross‑functional team. Develop and utilize advanced tools and equipment to characterize machines and process space. Collaborate with government, industry, academic, and RTX Business Unit partners to develop whitepapers, project concepts, and responsive proposals. Conduct RCCA activities on build failures, machine or process issues, or product performance gaps. Work with cross‑functional teams including materials, design, simulation, operations, and characterization engineers to support and improve the full value stream. Support RTX Business Units by providing process expertise and best practices. Qualifications University degree or equivalent experience with minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience, or advanced degree with minimum 5 years of experience. Expertise in additive manufacturing tools and processes. Scripting experience with Matlab, Python, VBA, JavaScript or similar. Experience with software and tools used in additive manufacturing including CAD packages. Experience with metal laser powder‑bed‑fusion AM equipment. Working understanding of AM machine sensors and control systems. U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance. Preferred Qualifications PhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering or related technical field. Strong presentation, planning, problem solving, organizational, and project management skills. Benefits & Compensation Salary range: USD 101,000 – 203,000.
