Overseeing daily newsroom operations, the full-time News Editor will manage local news coverage across print and digital platforms, assign stories, edit content for accuracy, and uphold ethical journalism standards while working in a mixed newsroom/office environment with options for remote or hybrid work. Key Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and manage daily and weekly news coverage for print and online platforms Edit articles for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to AP Style and ethical journalism standards Mentor reporters by providing constructive feedback to develop their writing and reporting skills Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 3-5 years of newsroom experience in reporting or editing, preferably in a local news environment Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and oversee several projects simultaneously Experience with CMS platforms and digital publishing tools Familiarity with multimedia storytelling and SEO best practices preferred Virtual Vocations Inc
