The Regulatory Affairs Specialist supports execution of the Louisiana LNG regulatory program throughout the full project lifecycle, from project development and permitting through engineering, construction, commissioning, start-up, and successful handover to Operations. The role coordinates regulatory deliverables, compliance activities, and cross-functional regulatory interfaces to support safe and timely project execution while ensuring compliance with FERC authorizations and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. The position partners closely with Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, Project Controls, Environmental, and EPC contractor to integrate regulatory requirements into project execution and support the successful delivery of major capital projects. This position will be based in Houston, TX. This position will be based in Houston, TX. Duties and Responsibilities HSEQ Enforce and ensure compliance with Company / Project HSEQ and Regulatory Affairs policies, standards, and regulations. Key Responsibilities Support execution of the Louisiana LNG regulatory program across all phases of the project lifecycle, from project development and permitting through engineering, construction, commissioning, start-up, and transition to Operations. Assist in the development and implementation of regulatory strategies to support successful project delivery. Coordinate the development, review, and submission of regulatory applications, filings, reports, notifications, and other regulatory deliverables. Coordinate cross-functional activities with Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, Environmental, Project Controls, and EPC contractor to integrate regulatory requirements into project planning and execution. Review engineering deliverables, technical documentation, design changes, and construction activities to ensure alignment with regulatory commitments and approved authorizations. Monitor regulatory commitments, project authorizations, compliance obligations, and filing schedules to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance. Support planning and coordination of regulatory meetings, inspections, technical discussions, and agency engagements. Coordinate responses to regulatory agency requests, technical reviews, inspection observations, and compliance inquiries. Maintain regulatory tracking systems, compliance records, project documentation, and regulatory metrics. Prepare technical summaries, regulatory correspondence, presentations, and reports to support project execution and stakeholder communication. Support continuous improvement of regulatory processes by identifying risks, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement. Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with project teams, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies. Key Interactions Internal Project / Site Team HSE & Regulatory Affairs Team External EPC Contractors, Vendors, & Suppliers Regulatory Agencies Skills and Experience Strong knowledge of regulatory processes and compliance requirements applicable to major energy infrastructure projects. Experience supporting regulatory activities across one or more phases of the project lifecycle, including permitting, engineering, construction, commissioning, or operations. Strong project coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and manage competing priorities in a dynamic project environment. Demonstrated ability to review engineering deliverables, technical documentation, and project changes to assess regulatory compliance. Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, including Engineering, Construction, Environmental, Commissioning, Operations, and EPC contractors. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of technical reports, regulatory correspondence, and executive briefing materials. Experience supporting LNG, natural gas, pipeline, petrochemical, or other major industrial infrastructure projects is preferred. Working knowledge of FERC-regulated projects or other federal regulatory frameworks is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.), SharePoint, and document management systems. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, Construction Management, Project Management, or another related discipline. Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in regulatory affairs, permitting, engineering, construction, project management, or related roles supporting major energy infrastructure projects.
