Maintenance Mechanic I

Job Summary Maintenance Mechanic I responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and correcting failures across electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic machine systems. The role includes maintaining and operating pump systems, safety circulators, and complex process controls in a union environment. The starting hourly pay rate is $30.82. Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot a variety of machine malfunctions and determine root causes. Perform preventive, corrective, and proactive maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment. Operate and maintain pump systems, safety circulators, and complex process systems. Read, interpret, and follow maintenance documentation, safety rules, and specified standards. Execute service, repair, installation, and removal of equipment to ensure production continuity. Use Microsoft Office tools for data reporting and trend analysis. Operate hand and power tools safely with appropriate personal protective equipment. Work independently and collaboratively with maintenance and safety teams. Assist and promote safety and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred. 1–2 years’ experience in machine maintenance or a related field. Strong knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, and process controls. Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, and work instructions. Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills. Good communication and teamwork skills. Must be able to work safely using hand and power tools.
