Contract Registered Nurse - Day Surgery Outpatient

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shifts include a combination of:

• 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM

No call and no weekends required.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for our outpatient surgery unit. The ideal candidate will provide preoperative and postoperative care to patients, ensuring a safe and comfortable recovery process. This role requires a collaborative approach within a team environment, focusing on patient education and discharge planning for diverse procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative care for a variety of surgical procedures.
• Administer medications and IV therapy as needed.
• Monitor patients in Phase 2 recovery and provide discharge education.
• Engage in a team nursing approach to optimize patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license.
• Previous experience in Preop and Phase 2 Postop nursing.
• Competency in starting IVs and providing patient education.
• Preferred experience with Meditech EMR.
