Procurement Specialist

Buyer PositionAston Carter partnering with a leading manufacturer in the area is seeking a Buyer to join a growing procurement and supply chain team supporting a complex manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a procurement professional who enjoys balancing day-to-day purchasing responsibilities with strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier management.This position offers exposure to both tactical supply chain operations and long-term procurement strategy, creating an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional looking to expand their career within a collaborative organization.What You'll DoManage approximately $20M in spend, including corrugate, labels, flexible packaging, preformed bags, and related categories.Execute purchasing activities, including purchase order management, inventory planning, and material replenishment.Run and maintain MRP-driven planning processes within an ERP environment.Support multiple manufacturing facilities by ensuring materials are available in the right place at the right time.Monitor inventory levels, outage reports, and supplier performance.Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, project teams, and leadership stakeholders.Lead or support sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, and RFP processes.Participate in new product development projects by working with suppliers on packaging solutions, pricing, testing, and implementation.Drive continuous improvement efforts and identify opportunities for process enhancements.What We're Looking For5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or buying roles.Experience working within an ERP system and utilizing MRP planning processes.Background in manufacturing, packaging, ingredients, raw materials, or related procurement categories preferred.Strong supplier relationship management and communication skills.Experience supporting multiple facilities, locations, or complex supply chains is highly valued.Exposure to strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, RFPs, cost-savings initiatives, or supplier scorecards is a plus.Ability to work effectively across departments and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.Bachelor's degree preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.Success in This RoleThe ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in a hybrid procurement environment that combines tactical execution with strategic sourcing responsibilities.
