Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead contract strategy and administration for large-scale industrial construction projects, with a focus on power generation and process facilities. The Contracts Manager will be responsible for negotiating, drafting, interpreting and enforcing commercial agreements across EPC, Design-Build and CMAR delivery models, managing contract risk, and partnering with project, commercial and legal teams to protect the companys interests while enabling successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, negotiate and execute project contracts including EPC, Design-Build, CMAR and subcontractor agreements to achieve commercial and schedule objectives.
• Lead contract strategy and commercial terms development during bid and award phases; assess contract risk and recommend mitigation measures.
• Administer the full contract lifecycle: change order and claims management, extensions of time, commercial correspondence, and contract close-out.
• Review and advise on scope, pricing, invoicing, progress milestones, retainage and payment terms to ensure compliance and cashflow control.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineering, procurement and construction teams to interpret contract requirements and resolve disputes or ambiguities promptly.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier contracting processes, including prequalification, scopes of work, bonds, insurance and performance guarantees.
• Collaborate with legal counsel on complex disputes, litigation support, indemnities, warranties, and regulatory compliance matters.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, standard operating procedures and best-practice playbooks; deliver contract training and coaching to project teams.
• Monitor and report contract performance, commercial exposure and open claims; drive continuous improvement on contract administration and risk management processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Law or related field; advanced degree or legal background is a plus.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible contracts experience in industrial construction, with demonstrable experience in power generation or process facilities projects.
• Proven hands-on experience with EPC, Design-Build and CMAR project delivery models, including subcontract and supply chain contracting.
• Strong contract negotiation skills and experience managing claims, change orders and dispute resolution.
• Solid understanding of contract law, standard form contracts and commercial clauses (familiarity with FIDIC/AIA/NEC or equivalent preferred).
• Demonstrated risk management capability with the ability to quantify commercial exposure and implement mitigation strategies.
• Experience working with project controls, commercial teams and contract management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Procore, SAP or similar).
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills; ability to influence at all levels and drive outcomes under schedule and budget pressures.
• Professional certifications such as CCM, CPCM, PMP or equivalent are desirable.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
