Role Description

Seeking an experienced professional with labor, delivery, and postpartum expertise to support various units when required. Responsibilities may include floating to med/surg, ED, ICU, and Mental Health as a 1:1 sitter without taking a full nursing assignment. On occasion, you may also be placed on call if the patient census is low.

Unit Overview

This unit handles labor, delivery, postpartum, and antepartum patients, with Cesarean sections conducted on the floor. The OB staff provides patient support and newborn care, while the OR team takes on scrubbing and circulating duties. Approximately 400 deliveries occur per year with a core staffing of four professionals per shift.

Unit Size and Staffing

• 11 beds
• Expected patient ratios: 1:1 for labor, and 2-3 mom/baby couplets per professional

Certification Requirements

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• AWHONN Basic Fetal Monitoring Certification
