This role ensures patient safety, clinical excellence, staff competency, and regulatory compliance in a high-acuity inpatient treatment environment.OverviewSupervise, train, and develop RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and Client Care Techs/CNAsCreate and manage staffing schedules to maintain safe clinical ratiosConduct competency evaluations, clinical coaching, and performance oversightLead ongoing training on withdrawal care, medications, and emergency responsePromote a trauma-informed, recovery-focused, and patient-centered cultureClinical OversightOversee nursing care delivery across Detox + ResidentialEnsure accurate and timely medication administration, monitoring, and withdrawal managementMaintain emergency and escalation protocols for high-acuity clientsEnsure medical clearance, intake screenings, and nursing documentation meet standardsReview, validate, and approve nursing clinical documentationCompliance & Quality AssuranceMaintain survey-readiness for Joint Commission (JCAHO) or CARF, if applicableEnsure compliance with California DHCS, Title 9, and withdrawal management regulationsOversee medication storage, controlled-substance counts, disposal, and documentation auditsLead internal chart audits for nursing accuracy and risk mitigationUpdate and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and regulatory alignmentProvide clinical collaboration with Utilization Review and Admissions for acuity and medical-clearance decisionsInterdisciplinary CollaborationPartner with the Medical Director, Clinical Director, and Executive LeadershipSupport admissions by ensuring timely nursing screenings and intake approvalsMaintain medical supply inventory and ordering oversightCommunicate clinical needs effectively across departmentsQualificationsRequiredActive California LVN/RN License (in good standing)Minimum 2+ years nursing leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or higher)Experience in medical detox, residential SUD, or inpatient behavioral healthStrong knowledge of withdrawal management and detox protocolsPsychotropic, SUD, and detox medicationsASAM levels of care for inpatient treatmentAbility to work on-site at a treatment facility in CaliforniaValid drivers licensePreferredFamiliarity with KIPU EMR or similar clinical systemsExperience in accredited treatment centers (Joint Commission/CARF audit or survey support)IV and phlebotomy skills a plusSkills & CompetenciesStrong clinical judgment in high-acuity withdrawal careDocumentation oversight and audit-readiness mindsetStaff training, coaching, and process improvementCalm, decisive leadership in medical and crisis situationsExcellent interdisciplinary communicationRecovery-aligned, patient-focused leadership approachScheduleFull-time, on-siteOr refer someone
