Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Physical Therapist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough assessments of patients' physical limitations and functional abilities to create individualized treatment plans tailored to their specific recovery goals.
• Implementing targeted exercises and therapeutic interventions to enhance strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, and endurance.
• Guide patients through the process of relearning to walk safely and effectively, especially following injury or prolonged immobility.
• Develop and implement fall prevention strategies, educating both patients and caregivers on techniques to reduce fall risks.
• Provide pulmonary rehabilitation programs tailored for patients with lung conditions, focusing on improving breathing techniques and exercise capacity.
• Collaborating with fellow healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care plans that address all aspects of a patient's recovery.
• Assisting residents in enhancing their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
• Incorporating cognitive rehabilitation activities into treatment regimens to help patients maintain or improve their mental functionality.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patient population you will serve primarily includes elderly residents recovering from various medical conditions, surgeries, or prolonged illness. Many patients may present with complex needs due to comorbidities such as cardiovascular disease, orthopedic issues, and neurological impairments. Your role will involve tailoring your interventions to meet these multifaceted needs while fostering a compassionate and supportive therapeutic relationship.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

• A valid Physical Therapy license in the state of California.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution.
• Strong analytical skills to assess patients' needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
