Job Title Civil Engineer 1 Job Summary CDM Smith is seeking a Civil Engineer 1 to join our Geotechnical Engineering Team in Cincinnati. This is an AutoCAD based role. Responsibilities Under direct supervision, creates basic complexity engineering designs involving site layout development, site grading and drainage, hydraulics and hydrology calculations, water distribution systems, collection systems, storage tanks and impoundments, foundation designs, stormwater infrastructure and treatment, and occasionally single-story structures. Reviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs. Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications. Updates design requirements as necessary. Contributes to firm's Technical Knowledge Management (TKM) by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc. Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals. Performs other duties as required. May create or work with a team to create a poster or other presentation material for a conference. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. 0 years experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Preferred Qualifications This role will be very AutoCAD heavy. Experience and interest in AutoCAD are encouraged to apply. Employment Type Regular Location Ohio - Cincinnati Pay Range Minimum: $60,798 Maximum: $100,298 Additional Compensation All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
