Field Service EngineerThis Field Service Engineer role involves installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial heat processing and heat-treating equipment at customer locations both domestically and internationally. The position serves as the primary technical resource for customers, providing support for equipment startups, electrical and control system diagnostics, repairs, testing, and ongoing maintenance.Responsibilities include:Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systemsCommission new equipment and train customersDocument technical issues and corrective actionsCollaborate with engineering and service teams to resolve complex equipment challengesTravel extensively to support customer installations and service needsCreate service reports, documentation, reach out to customers, and follow up with customers when not travelingEssential skills include:Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and plumbing/piping diagramsExperience using multimeters, amp probes, and other diagnostic toolsAbility to adjust PLCs and VFDs and troubleshoot process control systems (only troubleshooting and editing, no programming)Customer-facing professionalismAdditional skills and qualifications include:Field service experience with industrial equipmentExperience with heat-treating, furnace, combustion, or thermal processing equipmentPrevious customer-facing technical support or service experienceExperience with ovens or any heating equipmentQuality controls/testing experienceWork environment:Training will be conducted on-site in Michigan, but you do not need to be located there. Guaranteed 40 hours of work per week with an average of 50 hours, can get to 60 at times, and paid travel time from home to the job site.Job type and location:This is a contract to hire position based out of Riverside, MI.Pay and benefits:The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
