Role Description The Construction Health and Safety Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in Berkeley, CA. This position is responsible for monitoring daily construction activities to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, project-specific safety plans, and company policies. The role includes conducting regular site inspections, documenting findings, and coordinating corrective actions with site supervisors and contractors. The representative will review safety-related submittals, assist with incident reporting and investigations, and support safety meetings and trainings for site personnel. The role also involves collaborating with project managers and contract administrators to integrate safety requirements into project documentation and schedule, and maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders to promote a safe work environment. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong supervisory skills to guide site personnel, influence safe work practices, and support enforcement of safety standards. Candidates should possess inspection and monitoring skills to perform thorough site walkthroughs, identify hazards, and document compliance with regulatory and project requirements. Candidates should possess experience with construction safety, including OSHA standards, site-specific safety plans, and incident response procedures. Candidates should possess familiarity with submittals and contract management to review safety-related documentation and ensure contractual safety obligations are met. Relevant additional qualifications include prior experience on construction projects, strong communication and report-writing skills, and proficiency with basic office and safety management software.
