Hematology Oncology Associates was established in Palm Beach County over 35 years ago, and has grown to include 10 Board Certified Hematologist and Oncologists and 6 Nurse Practitioners in 3 convenient locations within our community. Our goals are to provide state of the art cancer treatments with a high level of compassionate care in a warm inviting environment. We also specialize in treatment of coagulation blood disorders, leukemias and other hematologic benign conditions. Our team values the work components of every member to create a culture of people helping people and making a difference in our lives and those we serve.Job Description:Ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with persons of all backgroundsPromotes accuracy and efficiency in obtaining medical records from outside facilities and assures that the patient signs the proper record release forms according to HIPAA guidelinesRetrieves documents to be scanned into EMR from physicians, nurses, and any other departments regularlyScans information into the appropriate section of the EMR.Check for patient identifying information on all documents to ensure information is being entered into the correct patient’s chartPrepare New Patient Packets promptly before patient appointment; if additional records are needed, fill out the appropriate record request form and fax to the referring physician or call their office if needed urgentlyHandle all incoming medical records requests, such as subpoenas, law offices, disability information requests, as well as, payment for records. STAT requests to be done as a priority; all others to be done within 3- 5 daysRetrieve medical records throughout the day for the physicians/medical assistants as neededMaintains master patient and record availability by scanning and organizing in EMRRetrieves medical records by following office procedures; documents reasons charts cannot be retrieved for statistical and follow-up purposesDelivers archived charts to physicians as requestedKeeps health care providers informed by communicating the availability or unavailability of the recordMaintains quality results by following office standardsMaintains continuity of work operations by documenting and communicatingMaintains patient confidentiality at all timesPull and organize charts as needed for special auditsPurge paper charts as required by practice to be sent to offsite storageServes and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, office policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements and standardsAbility to work under pressureEnhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Travels to satellite locations and floats to other clinics if needed #J-18808-Ljbffr Astera Cancer Care
