What You'll Do
- Provide post-anesthesia care for patients of all ages after surgical procedures
- Monitor vital signs and patient status, ensuring safe recovery
- Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, and PACU teams for patient care
- Document patient progress accurately in electronic health records (Epic experience required)
- Float to pediatric PACU as needed, supporting a diverse patient population
- Assist with special procedures and operate necessary equipment such as Hoyer lifts and bladder scanners
- Maintain patient safety and comfort during recovery phases
What You Need
- Valid Louisiana RN license or eligible to practice in Louisiana
- ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications required
- At least 1 year of PACU or Pre/Post Op nursing experience; Critical Care Post-Op background preferred
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient needs and unit conditions
About the Assignment
Join a dedicated team supporting all major surgical services, including procedures in pediatrics and adults, across multiple ORs in a high-volume hospital setting. Be part of a dynamic unit providing pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care in a challenging and rewarding environment. Experience in Epic electronic medical records is required.
