The E-Space Manufacturing team builds the world's most advanced aerospace products at high rate and high precision.

• Own new product introduction and build production processes for optical communication assemblies from first concept, developing new process flows rather than sustaining an existing line

• Design and implement development and production test procedures for optical communication assemblies, and own the reliability numbers those procedures produce

• Direct manufacturers and suppliers on process improvements that raise optical system reliability, and own the outcome of those changes

• Drive corrective actions and process improvements on owned processes and products, and stand behind the fix

• Lead root cause investigations on non-conforming hardware and own the reliability improvements that come out of them

• Negotiate and own manufacturability and reliability feedback directly with design teams, closing the loop between design intent and what actually builds

• Identify trends across production data and decide where to optimize output, quality, and cost of manufacturability

• Collaborate with optical, electromechanical, and supply chain partners to keep process changes aligned across the program

• Step into adjacent electromechanical or supplier quality engineering work whenever the program needs it, since at this size no discipline stays fully siloed

• A working grasp of mechanical or optical engineering, physics, or a related technical discipline, applied to a real hardware program

• 2+ years owning mechanical or electromechanical design, analysis, testing, or manufacturing work, including internships, co-ops, or club projects you can point to today

• 3+ years hands-on building optical system assemblies, with specific parts you took from design into production

• Owned the assembly of free space optics including lenses, prisms, and mirrors, and can describe your calls on insertion loss, return loss, coatings, optical bonding, optics cleaning, or optical alignment

• Built, aligned, and maintained a free space optical test setup that you can name and describe

• Owned a process in a high volume production environment (consumer goods, automotive, or similar) from qualification through steady state output

• Owned environmental testing of an optical assembly and the resulting data

• Applied statistical process control to a real production line and can describe the decisions it drove

• Delivered hardware end to end in a fast paced, cross functional environment, and can point to what shipped and what your role was

• Designed tooling for high volume manufacturing that is running in production today

• Built and deployed automation into a production process, and can describe what changed

• Integrated electromechanical assemblies across both manual and automated production lines

• Owned a supplier or contract manufacturer relationship and drove it to a defined performance bar

• Used SolidWorks and Duro, or another CAD or PLM system, to own a design or configuration record

• Defined requirements for an ERP, MRP, or MES system that a team still uses

• Challenged your own assumption or a stated requirement on a real design

• Put in extended hours or weekends when a real mission deadline called for it on a past program, and can describe what was on the line

This is a fast-paced, high-impact environment - flexibility to occasionally work extended hours or weekends during critical periods is expected.

This is a full time, exempt position, based out of our Arlington, TX facility.
