Primary City/State: Medical Office Building – 13481 West McDowell Road Goodyear, AZ 85395 Category: Healthcare Support Shift: Day Department: Primary Care-Palm Valley Responsibilities Lead Medical Office Assistant role involves orienting, training, supervising staff, managing schedules, and supporting clinical and administrative tasks. Orient and train front and back office staff in processes, office software, and laboratory procedures. Supervise Medical Assistant monthly schedules, determine staffing needs, and coordinate with management to address gaps. Report any Medical Assistant needs or issues related to patient care, scheduling, or other site concerns to management. Provide support for office software systems and the electronic health record. Perform receptionist duties including telephone handling, scheduling, data entry, and supply ordering and inventory management. Assist physicians/clinicians with examination and treatment of patients under their direction. Serve as backup for Medical Assistants as needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Act as teacher, trainer, and mentor for new staff. Monitor front and back office operations to ensure adherence to standardized processes. Manage Medical Assistant work schedules and evaluate supply usage and costs. Identify and report significant cost savings opportunities to management. Oversee expired medication logs and supply ordering procedures. Prepare treatment rooms and escort patients for examinations. Obtain brief patient histories, document chief complaints, and record vital signs. Assist physicians with exams and special procedures. Perform general front office duties such as reception, telephone, data entry, chart maintenance, insurance forms, scheduling, and laboratory quality control. Education High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of a Medical Assistant training program required. Experience At least 1 year of related experience required. 3 years of training or leadership experience preferred. Licenses & Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPC) required.
