Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 07/06/2026 Duration: 12 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary: The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The role involves providing specialized nursing care in a high-acuity pediatric cardiac ICU with a focus on patients requiring open heart surgery, heart transplants, and management of complex cardiac conditions. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of assignment. Job Details: Location: Milwaukee, WI Shift: 12-hour nights; 7:00 PM 7:30 AM Schedule: 36 hours per week, guaranteed, with additional hours during the orientation week Required Qualifications: WI or Compact RN license, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred but not required; 12-18 months of independent nursing experience in high acuity cardiac PICU required. Level I Trauma experience highly preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) Special Skills: Use critical thinking, experience with high acuity cardiac PICU patients, including open-heart procedures, transplants, and open chests. Additional Information: Flu vaccine required or willingness to obtain; unit covers pediatric patients from neonates to adults with congenital heart disease. Certifications: Attach relevant certifications upon submittal. EMR Experience: Epic required; Cerner experience preferred. Holiday Rotation: Every other holiday.
