Position Summary Omnicare is a leading provider of pharmacy services to long-term care facilities nationwide, supporting skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other institutional care settings. Following the sale of Omnicare by CVS Health, this role will support Omnicare and its continued operations as an independent, standalone organization. The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Associate Manager is responsible for leading environmental, health, safety, and regulatory compliance programs across pharmacy, repackaging, distribution, and corporate operations. This position serves as a subject matter expert for environmental compliance, hazardous, and pharmaceutical waste management, occupational safety, emergency preparedness, and regulatory reporting. The role partners with site leadership and operational teams to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement. Essential Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), DOT (Department of Transportation), and applicable state and local regulations. Monitor regulatory changes and assess impacts to operations. Support regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance assessments. Manage environmental permits, licenses, registrations, and reporting requirements. Pharmaceutical & Hazardous Waste Management Oversee hazardous waste, pharmaceutical waste, controlled substance waste, regulated medical waste, and sharps management programs. Coordinate waste vendor activities, manifests, exception reporting, and compliance documentation. Monitor waste generation trends and identify opportunities for risk reduction and program improvements. Environmental Programs Manage environmental compliance programs, including spill prevention, contingency planning, emergency response, and environmental reporting. Support EPCRA (Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act) Tier II, hazardous materials, and environmental permit compliance activities. Develop and implement environmental sustainability and waste-reduction initiatives. Safety & Risk Management Conduct facility inspections, safety audits, hazard assessments, and compliance evaluations. Lead incident, injury, near miss, spill, and environmental release investigations. Perform root cause analyses and ensure timely completion of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs). Track and trend EHS performance metrics and communicate findings to leadership. Training & Employee Engagement Develop and deliver EHS training programs. Ensure completion and documentation of required compliance training. Provide guidance and technical support to operations, facilities, and leadership teams. Promote a proactive safety culture through communication, coaching, and employee engagement initiatives. Emergency Preparedness Maintain emergency response, spill response, and business continuity programs. Coordinate preparedness activities for severe weather, environmental incidents, and other emergencies. Serve as an EHS resource during emergency events and regulatory reporting activities. Required Qualifications 3-5 years of environmental, health, and safety experience in a regulated industry, including experience with environmental compliance, waste management, regulatory reporting, audits, and/or investigations. 2+ years of experience working with OSHA and EPA. Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time within the continental United States. Preferred Qualifications Willingness to work a hybrid schedule out of the Glasgow, KY office. Pharmaceutical, healthcare, manufacturing, or distribution experience. Posesses at least one of the following certifications: CSP (Certified Safety Professional) ASP (Associate Safety Professional) CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) OSHA 30-Hour Certification Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and environmental regulations. Experience managing multi-site environmental compliance programs. Strong analytical and root cause investigation skills. Excellent communication and training abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and compliance management systems. Education Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Management, or related field. Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $46,988.00 - $122,400.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. Our people fuel our future.
