Estimated payments do not include taxes, insurance, or other deductions that may occur.Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Cytotechnologist for a 18-week travel assignment in Renton, Washington. As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of patients while enjoying competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the support of a dedicated clinical team.Required Qualifications:One year of recent experience as a CytotechnologistValid license when needed in compliance with any state regulationsMust demonstrate proficiency in microscopic examination of cytology specimensPreferred Qualifications:Active CT (ASCP) certification required (or equivalent, such as AMT, AAB, HEW)Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)Other certifications or licenses may be required for this positionA Cytotechnologist is a specialized laboratory professional responsible for examining cell samples under a microscope to detect cancer, infections, or other diseases. Working primarily in pathology and diagnostic laboratories, they analyze specimens from various body sites, including the cervix, lungs, and body fluids, to identify cellular abnormalities. Cytotechnologists play a crucial role in early disease detection and collaborate closely with pathologists to ensure accurate diagnoses and optimal patient care.Essential Work Functions:Must be skilled in cytotechnology in techniques such as Papanicolaou (Pap) staining and liquid-based cytologyAccurately differentiate between normal, reactive, infectious, and malignant cellular changesCollaboration with pathologists for diagnostic accuracy to review and confirm suspicious or abnormal findingsMaintain accurate documentation and reporting of cytological findings to support timely diagnoses and ensure optimal patient careApply time management skills and prioritize tasks to ensure results are completed within the designated time framesCommunicate in an effective manner, both oral and written, among a multidisciplinary teamEnsure quality control and quality assurance measures are met to maintain laboratory accuracy and reliabilityPerform other duties as assigned within the scope of practiceAdhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standardsRequired Essential Skills:Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skillsThe ability to read, write, and communicate in the English languageAbility to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skillsPhysical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bendInterpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalismTechnical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipmentMental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel.
