Job Description Eurofins Built Environment Testing is seeking an experienced Asbestos Analyst in Burlingame, CA. The Analyst primarily performs analysis of bulk samples using PLM for asbestos, and analysis of non-culturable surface and air samples for fungi. The Analyst prepares and analyzes environmental samples according to scientific methodology in compliance with company Quality Assurance programs and SOPs. The Analyst must be knowledgeable of both routine and complex analyses, validate and review data for accuracy, and enter laboratory data into the LIMS to generate client reports. The role involves scheduling sample workload, operating laboratory testing equipment with discretion and judgment, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Prepare and analyze aerobiological and environmental samples for asbestos and fungi. Accurately enter and report analytical data using the LIMS. Perform independent data reviews for other analysts’ work. Conduct analysis of reference materials, proficiency samples, and QC samples as needed. Maintain client service and provide technical support. Assist the QA manager with development and implementation of QA processes. Confirm lab results as needed for client services. Complete analytical testing and QA tasks as required. Maintain and pursue laboratory accreditations. Update training and QA documentation onsite. Coordinate and manage projects to meet deadlines. Support analytical questions and participate in Lean initiatives. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Manage inventory of supplies and re-order as needed. Dispose of analyzed samples properly. Provide training support for relevant analytical services. Coordinate sample transfers and maintain lab stock cultures. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. Maintain laboratory equipment and coordinate servicing. Communicate laboratory capacity to management. Support other lab departments when necessary. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: At least 1 year of experience performing asbestos microscopy or spore trap/direct exam analysis. Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, geology, or related science. Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or sponsorship. Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking). Preferred Qualifications: 8 units of Microbiology courses. Knowledge of regulatory requirements. Proficiency with computers, spreadsheets, and databases. Strong organizational and scientific skills. Additional Information Compensation range: $22.00 - $26.00/hour depending on experience. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with weekend coverage and overtime as needed.
