Job Description
Job Title: RN II-Float Pool - Critical Care

Profession: Registered Nurse

Specialty: Float Pool - Critical Care

Duration: 8 weeks

Shift: Day Shift

Hours per Shift: Guaranteed hours

Experience: One year ICU or Step-Down/Progressive Care, High Risk Labor and Delivery, or ER experience in the last 5 years required.

License: Current RN license in state of practice required.

Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor required.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor required within 60 days of hire.
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or enrollment in upcoming TNCC class required.

Must-Have:
Completion of Critical Care Course or equivalent experience preferred.
Current RN license is required.


Description:
Responsible for the planning, coordination, and provision of nursing care to patients in critical care settings.
Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to ancillary personnel according to their scope of practice.
Provides nursing interventions in stable and emergent patient situations.
Demonstrates competence in routine nursing skills including medication administration and intravenous therapy.
Understands and follows the chain of command per policy.
Accurately interprets ECG rhythms and manages care during life-threatening emergencies.
Demonstrates knowledge in the care and management of patients post coronary interventions and pacemaker placements.
Initiates a multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plan for each patient in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Documents education provided to patients and families using appropriate teaching methods.
Delegates patient care tasks based on individual competency and scope of practice.
Evaluates the effectiveness of care performed.
Completes legible, accurate, and timely documentation of nursing care provided.
Identifies and communicates opportunities to improve care, services, and unit operations.
Embraces new approaches to problem-solving and is open to change to achieve new goals.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
