Prep Cook

Kikka sushi is looking for energetic, hardworking, dependable, Prep Cook / Line Cook / Team Member that will provide great customer service in our new location in the Whole Foods located at: 201 W. A Street, San Diego, CA 92101. Full time with benefits, 5 days a week, (must be available on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays with weekday off), working between the hours of 7:00 am - 8:00 pm (9 hour shifts including an hour unpaid lunch break). This is a new location so work days and times may be adjusted based on the business once it has settled. The Prep Cook / Line Cook / Team Member will make sushi in advance and per customer's request. No experience making sushi, no problem we will teach you! The team member will also do prep work, prepare other Asian foods and maintain a clean and neat environment while helping customers in a fun, fast paced, exciting environment. To thrive you must show up to work on time and as scheduled, have a flexible morning and evening availability, be willing to work hard (this isn't an easy job), be patient (it takes about 3 months to get comfortable with the job), must be willing to stick it out (not quit after a few days or weeks) and be able to work with multi-cultural and multi-lingual co-workers, some who barely speak English. Pay: $18.00 per hour. Per SB1182: up to $19.00 per hour, with 5 years of sushi making working experience. Less than 5 years sushi making work experience, $18.00, not negotiable.
