Registered Respiratory Therapist Nights

Job Description The Respiratory Therapist RRT provides advanced-level respiratory care to patients designed to diagnose, evaluate, treat, manage, and control deficiencies or abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system within the prescription of the ordering physician. This position acts as a resource to the CRT staff and may be responsible for special clinical projects or assignments as designated by leadership according to the needs of the department. Department Respiratory Therapy, Riverton Hospital Essential Functions Performs, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic testing procedures, obtains arterial gases, and oversees equipment operation. Initiates respiratory protocols and interventions based on assessments. Administers medications safely and re‑evaluates effects. Communicates patient progress to staff, physicians, and other departments. Maintains awareness of patient condition, shares information, recommends care, and recognizes educational needs of patients and families. Teaches self‑care techniques and modalities. Documents according to standards, monitors supplies, and utilizes time effectively for productivity. Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifies improvement areas, and promotes respiratory care. Acts as a consultant and mentor to staff, participates in research, may float to other departments, be on‑call during scheduled shifts, and performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Graduate of a NBRC approved Respiratory Therapist program from an accredited institution. Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT). Current license as Registered Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers. Specific certifications as required (PALS, ACLS, NRP). Physical Demands Must read information and labels, operate monitors, identify equipment. Communicate verbally and listen correctly during emergencies. Manipulate complex equipment with precision, use computer and type. Lift and move patients and supplies, including heavy items. Transport patients, push/pull gurneys, navigate busy rooms. May stand for extended periods. Location Intermountain Health Riverton Hospital, Riverton, Utah. Scheduled weekly hours: 36. Hourly range: $32.02 – $49.44, depending on experience.
