Investment Officer

Responsibilities Under general direction, the Investment Officer performs financial and analytical work within the Department of Finance, Investments Division. The role involves working closely with county managers, investment specialists, boards, and other stakeholders on investment-related matters, ensuring county compliance with Treasury-related laws, ordinances, codes, and policies. Develop, monitor, and interpret budgets and other financial documents. Plan, manage, and complete complex work assignments. Coordinate activities and meet critical deadlines. Develop cooperative, effective working relationships with internal and external partners. Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Make timely and effective investment decisions. Analyze and project cash flow. Utilize computerized reports for fiscal management systems. Interpret and apply applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations. Maintain confidentiality of information. Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or Finance from an accredited college or university, or a related field. Three (3) years of full-time paid experience in a commercial or governmental organization in professional level accounting, commercial or investment banking, cash management, or administration of investment instruments, including analyzing and recommending investment risks and policies. Knowledge of principles and practices of management, financial management, investment terminology, cash management, and short‑ and long‑term investments. Ability to work independently, prioritize, coordinate, and meet deadlines. Strong analytical and communication skills.
