UICGS / Bowhead Family of Companies

CAPTAIN - 100 Ton (MOB-2026-24540) Bowhead Marine Support Services is seeking a Captain to operate a 41' utility boat in the Gulf of America. The vessel departs and returns from Dauphin Island, Mobile County, Alabama. Only local Mobile County residents who can respond to the dock location in a timely manner will be considered. Responsibilities Monitor vessel and equipment preparation. Ensure safety of the crew and vessel. Operate the vessel safely and effectively. Use safety equipment and follow all applicable SOPs for tasks involving physical risk or hazardous materials. Participate in meetings, training, drills and safety audits as required. Maintain ship logs and manage operations from dock to dock. Communicate with helicopter pilots and monitor weather conditions. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications USCG Merchant Marine Master’s license 100‑ton or greater, required. TWIC card. Minimum of two (2) years operating twin‑inboard powered vessels greater than 40 ft. Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment. Ability to multitask and work independently or as part of a team. PC proficiency (spreadsheets, word processing, MS Office Suite). Local resident of Mobile County preferred. Military experience preferred; Coast Guard or Navy experience highly desired. Physical Demands Varying environments: dock, port, bay, waterways, office, equipment rooms, warehouse, construction zones, outdoors. Required to sit, handle, manipulate, talk and/or hear steadily. Required to stand, walk, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or squat routinely. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lb; occasionally up to 75 lb. Occasionally lift 75–100 lb with assistance or equipment. Work hours may fluctuate outside normal duty hours. Clearance Requirements There are currently no Security Clearance requirements. US Citizenship is required. Bowhead reserves the right to change this requirement if business needs or contractual obligations necessitate. #J-18808-Ljbffr
