Role Description

The Sonographer is a part-time, on-site role based in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, VA. Hours are flexible, ranging 8 to 16 hours per week. This position is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations and administering urine pregnancy test. In this position you will offer mothers facing the challenges of unexpected pregnancies a real-time image of her child in the womb, demonstrating her child’s God-given dignity, while also listening to the mother’s needs and concerns. The Hope 4 Life team then provides every mom and baby with assistance, tailored to the mother's specific needs.

The Sonographer will maintain equipment, follow infection control and safety procedures, and ensure accurate recordkeeping and reporting. The role also involves communicating clearly and sensitively with patients, providing education about procedures, and supporting a respectful, inclusive care environment.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess credentials or eligibility with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or possess credentials or eligibility with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Current compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, including adherence to professional ethics and patient privacy standards.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and patient-care skills, with the ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Ability to stand for extended periods, maneuver equipment safely, and perform exams with attention to detail and accuracy.

Capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and to adapt to changing clinical priorities.
