Position Summary: We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Skilled Laborer with a strong interest and experience in carpentry to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will assist with a variety of construction tasks while supporting carpenters in residential, commercial, and renovation projects. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist carpenters with framing, installation, and finishing work.
- Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other building materials according to specifications.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely.
- Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment around job sites.
- Prepare and clean work areas before, during, and after construction activities.
- Assist with installing doors, windows, cabinets, trim, drywall, and other carpentry-related components.
- Follow blueprints, sketches, and supervisor instructions to complete assigned tasks.
- Perform demolition and site preparation as needed.
- Maintain compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Work collaboratively with crew members, subcontractors, and supervisors to meet project deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic construction math.
- Knowledge of common carpentry tools and equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of carpentry or general construction experience.
- Experience with framing, trim work, or remodeling projects.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans.
