ND - Surgical Technologist - 40 hours - $95

Job Description Summary: The Surgical Technologist works as part of the team that delivers surgical care in the operating room. The technologist possesses knowledge and skills in sterile and aseptic technique. The Surgical Technologist also demonstrates knowledge of numerous surgical procedures so the needs of the surgeon can be anticipated. Job Description: Organizes and prepares case set-up prior to start of case. Identifies and communicates unusual techniques and instruments required for surgery. Cleans, assembles, operates, and properly cares for instruments, supplies, and equipment used in team specialties. Demonstrates an understanding of surgical procedure classification system and handles operating room specimens according to standard operating procedures. Provides patient care, according to diagnosis/procedure, utilizing the procedure cards and following established hospital policies and procedures. Documents procedure changes on procedure cards following each case according to standard operating procedures. Identifies and communicates unusual techniques and instruments required for surgery. Participates in measuring and monitoring Quality Indicators and outcomes. Performs pain assessment and takes appropriate action according to standard operating procedure. Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization. Certification: Unlicensed Assistive Person - Technician (UAP/T) | North Dakota Board of Nursing | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources Licensed Practical Nurse | North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or Compact State Agreement | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources Certified Surgical Technician (CST)| National Board of Surgical Tech-Surgical Assist (NBSTSA) | Preferred | HR Primary Sources Basic Life Support (BLS) |American Heart Association (AHA) | Within 90 days of Start Date | Learning Management System Notes: May be licensed as a UAP/T or LPN. Temporary UAP/T license accepted prior to start. Must be eligible to apply for certification. Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or graduate of military training program.


Shift: M-F Days or Evenings 40 hours guaranteed with additional weekday and weekend call to be determined by need
