Motor Vehicle Operator

The duties of this position include, but not limited to:

• Responsible for safe transport of veterans and other passengers authorized to ride in government vehicles.
• Operates Motor Vehicles requiring a CDL w/Passenger endorsement.
• Drives automotive vehicles such as passenger sedans, passenger vans, passenger buses, pickup trucks and heavy duty trucks with GVWR not exceed 23,999.
• Makes sure that vehicle is kept in good repair inside and outside.
• Completes preventative maintenance checks on vehicles prior to operation.
• Performs monthly written reports of Motor Vehicle Trips Logs and Motor Vehicle Trip Tickets.
• Obeys all traffic signage, signals and lights.
• Have a working knowledge of traffic regulations and overloading vehicle by its gross vehicle weight.
• Able to load and unload patients in a safe a manner and location.
• Able to read and follow road signs.
• Be able to operate and maneuver vehicles with manual, air and power brakes without jostling passengers.
• Be able to select alternative routes to avoid heavy traffic, delays and hazards by using map reading skills.
• Driving proficiency in the terms of safe and expeditious completion of tasks.
• Be able to perform operational checks such as checking tire pressure, checking fluids, door operation, etc..
• Knowledgeable of hybird and non-gasoline vehicles.

Work Schedule: Tour of duty 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, schedule could varies on agency needed.
