Executive Director, Stichting Ipas Europe (Europe Based role)

Overview We are looking to fill this role with a qualified candidate residing and able to work in Europe. This position is mostly remote work with some required travel. The Executive Director provides high‑level strategic leadership to meet the goals of Ipas Europe, which are aligned with the mission of the Ipas Impact Network. Primary Responsibilities Provide high‑level, strategic leadership to meet Ipas Europe goals aligned with the global mission. Develop and implement the Ipas Europe strategy and action plans, focusing on building strong partnerships and new business development across Europe. Serve as the primary representative of Ipas in Europe, maintaining technical leadership and fostering collaboration with diverse partners and donors. Promote shared leadership, trust, and non‑hierarchical approaches in working with other Network nodes. Ensure good stewardship of funding and adherence to Ipas Network mission, values, and standards. Lead external relations, partnerships and resource mobilization strategy across Europe, positioning Ipas Europe as a critical platform for securing resources. Deepen relationships with key European government donors while strategically expanding engagement with foundations, philanthropies, impact investors and emerging funding ecosystems. Cultivate high‑value partnerships, unlock new funding opportunities and elevate Ipas visibility and credibility across the European donor landscape. Strengthen existing institutional relationships while proactively identifying new partners and platforms for sustainable funding. Provide strategic oversight of the Ipas Europe platforms, ensuring strong governance, fiduciary integrity and institutional alignment. Strategically mobilize and grow funding from Europe to advance Ipas programs across Africa, Asia and Latin America. Guide the next phase of growth for Ipas Europe, shaping a forward‑looking partnerships and fundraising strategy. Qualifications Deep commitment to sexual and reproductive health and rights, with a focus on abortion and contraception rights. Demonstrated capacity to successfully advocate for reproductive health and rights in challenging and oppositional contexts. Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and advance new funding opportunities and partnerships. Established networks and proven experience in strategic fundraising, donor engagement and partnership development within the European donor landscape. Strong track record working with government development agencies, international donors, philanthropic foundations, corporates, impact investors and innovative financing mechanisms. Experience operating within international organizations and multi‑entity structures, navigating governance, compliance and funding oversight. Proven success in stewardship of funds and program management, including project design, work planning, budgeting, monitoring and problem‑solving. Proven success in raising funds from government donors, foundations and corporates, especially within Europe. Commitment to shared leadership and non‑hierarchical working approaches. Strategic relationship building and strong stakeholder‑management skills. Entrepreneurial approach to fundraising and partnerships, with a commitment to advancing women’s health and rights globally. Ability to work independently. Professional‑level fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing); fluency in Spanish, French or Portuguese desirable. Master’s level degree or higher in public health, medicine, international development, gender, policy, public administration or related studies. Minimum of 10 years of increasing leadership and management responsibility, with passion for the reproductive health or rights sector. Previous senior leadership experience, preferably in the SRHR sector and/or for an international NGO. Understanding of SRHR and especially abortion programming in Africa, Latin America and Asia – preferred. Travel and Work Environment Significant travel within Europe (20–30% of the time). The position is fully remote, with flexibility to meet virtually in different time zones. Physical Demands Typical office environment; ability to sit and stand for extended periods and lift up to 20lbs.
