RN-Registered Nurse – ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Weekly stipends: $1,246 Hourly rate: $16 - $19/hour Weekly base pay: $576.0 - $684 Contract type: Onsite Contract Start date: 6/29/2026 Length: 13 weeks Schedule Night Shift: 12 hours/day, 3 days/week Shift times: 7pm-7am and 7am-7pm for med-surg and critical care; ER may vary. Weekend rotation: Every other On call: Rare, only if census is low Holiday expectations: 70% of holidays Floating: All med-surg and critical care areas (including ED boarders). If ICU or ER, we also use those. Shift: 1900-0700 Job Description Respond to patient needs using ICU RN skills: arrhythmia monitoring, sedation, paralytics, titratable drips, CVP monitoring, caring for post‑craniotomy patients, TPA administration. 2 nurses required to place a Foley catheter. Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, monitoring vital signs, responding to telemetry, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. About Facility Rome, GA 30165 361 licensed beds Level 2 Trauma Designation Teaching Hospital: Yes, Residency Program Chest Pain Center Stroke Center Department Information Minimum years of experience required: 2 years in requested specialty Will accept a first‑time traveler: Yes, not preferred Patient Types / Common Diagnoses ED: General ED population for Level 2 Trauma – Chest Pain/Cardiac events, Stroke, Trauma – GSW, Stabbings, MVC, Falls, etc.; Respiratory illnesses, Seizures, Abdominal illnesses and infections, ETOH/CIWA, IVDA, Mental Health. Medical‑Surgical Floors 3 MedSurg (Overflow & difficult to place patients – 27 beds): Syncope, Fever and chills, Intractable nausea/vomiting, Failure to thrive, Cellulitis, Vascular dementia, Cerebrovascular disease, History of CVA. 3 North (Oncology – 20 beds): Immunocompromised patients, Cancer patients, end‑of‑life care, respite, palliative care patients, chemotherapy infusions (This floor will move to 2 MedSurg on Northeast building soon). 4 East (Ortho – 16 beds): Medical and surgical ortho patients including fractures of different bones and joints (open & closed), MVC, trauma, Buck's traction. 4 South (General Surgery & Trauma – 36 beds): Ureteral stone, goiter, hernia, uterine fibroids, renal mass, diverticulitis with perforation, MVC, trauma, bowel obstruction, breast cancer for mastectomy, hematuria (irrigation), fetal demise, DNC. 4 Central (Pulmonology – 22 beds): Acute respiratory failure, hyperglycemia, sepsis, metabolic encephalopathy, dementia, COPD, acute kidney injury, failure to thrive, pneumonia. 6 Central (Vascular & Bariatric Surgery – 19 beds): End‑stage renal disease, foot ulcer, peripheral vascular disease, morbid obesity (includes vascular and gastric bypass surgeries). Critical Care Areas 4 West (Neurology Step‑down – 23 beds): Stroke, seizures, back pain, lumbar surgery, s/p craniotomy, lumbar drains, AMS, aphasia. 5 West (Cardiac Step‑down – 34 beds): Chest pain, s/p cardiac angiography with or without PTCA, CHF, cardiomyopathy, pneumonia, palpitations, syncope, arrhythmias, angioedema, hyponatremia, AMS, sepsis, acute coronary syndrome, A‑Fib, heart block. Observation unit (Decision Unit & overflow for 5 West – 11 beds): facial numbness, CAD, A‑Fib with RVR, stroke‑like symptoms, chest pain, right or left sided weakness, acute respiratory failure. ICU (Medical, Surgical, Neuro, Cardiac – 26 beds): Drug overdose, psychosis, MI, subarachnoid hemorrhage, MVC, sepsis, ARF, AAA, acute hypoxic respiratory failure, hypoglycemia, pneumonia, suicide attempt (has patients on Life link, CRRT, intra‑aortic balloon pump). Required License & National Certification ICU RN: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, CPI (will be offered if not possessed); TNCC (preferred). Skills Required ICU RN: ICU skills – arrhythmia monitoring, sedation, paralytics, titratable drips knowledge, CVP monitoring, caring for post‑craniotomy patients, TPA administration; CCRN & TNCC preferred. At our facility, we require 2 nurses to place Foley catheters. Support within the Department CNA / Nurse techs Respiratory Therapists Phlebotomists Educator Staffing specialist Timekeeper / Payroll specialist Safety sitters Virtual Patient Observers (VPO) Virtual RN (currently on 4 West) Security Technology / Equipment EMR: EPIC Equipment depends on units: Glucommander, cardiac monitors, Precision BBG monitor, specialty beds, alarms, bed/chair alarms, BiPap, ventilators, Alaris pumps, Virtual RN, Virtual Patient Observer. Orientation 1st week: NEO (Monday – Friday 8:00am‑4:30pm) 2nd week: 2–3 days departmental (on the floor) Scheduling & Additional Information Weekend rotation: Every other On‑call: Rare, if census is low Holiday expectations: 70% of holidays RTO requests: Up to 7 days if traveler extends contract.
