The Preschool Teacher creates a welcoming, structured classroom for toddlers and young preschoolers, helping children learn, build relationships, and develop foundational skills. Working with rotating aides, this role combines thoughtful lesson planning, engaging instruction, attentive care, responsive communication with families, and collaboration with the teaching team.

Responsibilities

• Plan age-appropriate activities and curriculum supporting childhood development, early literacy, and foundational math.
• Facilitate play, learning activities, and classroom routines for toddlers and young preschoolers.
• Use positive behavior guidance and effective classroom-management strategies.
• Observe children’s progress, adapt instruction to individual needs, and support early intervention when appropriate.
• Provide individualized instruction that promotes confidence and readiness for future learning.
• Communicate with parents about children’s learning and well-being.
• Collaborate with rotating aides and the teaching team.
• Follow applicable child welfare and mandated reporting practices.

Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in early childhood education.
• At least 12 ECE units and willingness to complete additional coursework.
• Knowledge of early childhood education and curriculum development.
• Skills in lesson planning, classroom management, child observation, and early literacy instruction.
• Strong parent communication and responsive communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with young children in preschool, childcare, or daycare settings.
• Strengths in curriculum development, literacy education, early intervention, and parent communication.
• Additional ECE coursework or interest in continued professional growth.
