Job Summary: Lead the overall day‑to‑day management of district operations including transportation, food service, security, fields and grounds, maintenance, and custodial services. Plan continuous improvement to support the district’s mission and vision.
Essential Job Functions
- Supervise department functions including hiring/termination recommendations
- Supervise snow removal operations and equipment; ensure safe and efficient operations; coordinate with Superintendent on school closures
- Provide information and presentations to the Board of Education as needed
- Coordinate daily schedules for groundwater conservation, mowing, snow removal, and new personnel training
- Coordinate with district personnel, custodial services, and programs
- Evaluate district property each year, inspect playgrounds and landscapes, including fencing, concrete/masonry, parking lots, and field markings
- Create and maintain a long‑range facility plan for the school district
- Manage sports field and common ground programs for safety, regulatory standards, and external usage
- Monitor fund balances of assigned programs and ensure accurate allocations, revenue generation, and budget compliance
- Oversee contractors performing work in the district
- Prepare and maintain all required written documentation
- Procure equipment, supplies, and materials efficiently
- Recommend policies and procedures to help the district meet its goals and objectives
- Respond to emergencies 24 hours a day and oversee required actions
- Collaborate and communicate with District Safety Officers to provide information and facilitate communication
- Review plans, specifications, and cost estimates; advise school organizations on purchases of landscape material, equipment, fencing, and playground equipment
- Ensure custodial equipment is available and in good working order
- Facilitate monthly Supervisor and Head Custodian meetings; attend district meetings to support staff and serve as a District representative
- Oversee the tracking of absences and assign substitute custodians to maximize workforce efficiency
- Collaborate with the Director of Technology on building visitor/sign‑in management systems to ensure proper screening and authorization
- Perform related work as required

Salary: $103,814 to $146,122 per year
