At Bermex, we are always looking for motivated individuals who enjoy working independently and love the outdoors to become a part of our team.About the RoleThe Field Service Technician reports to the Project Manager at Bermex. This position plays a key role in completing service orders, which may include delivering notices, finding meters, reading meters and miscellaneous tasks necessary for the utility billing department. This position requires a high degree of driving, excellent time management, and exceptional flexibility day to day.What You’ll DoMeter maintenance:Remove inactive meters, locating curb valves, discontinue services, and conduct safety inspections including detection of gas leaks or theft investigationsComplete assigned duties in the required time frame for cycle readingsAssign sequence numbers to new servicesRearrange meter reading routes as necessaryRead meters on a daily and/or special basis, typically on a customer’s premises for service billsEvaluate unsafe conditions; may need to clean out meter boxesUse electric, gas, water meter reading devicesUse printed materials such as service orders, maps, manuals, and computer printoutsRead meters in various environmental conditionsExtensively walk and stand for much of the workdayWalk for long distances (occasionally up to 20 miles per day) in various weather conditions (rain, sleet, hail, snow, extreme heat or cold, etc.)Exert physical force moving objects (routinely 10lbs of force, up to an occasional 50lbs of force)Customer communication:Refer all consumer complaints to the appropriate authoritiesMay provide general information about the meter services to customers, when applicableUse telephones, tablets, and/or computers to communicateOther duties as assigned.About YouMust haves:Education: Education: None. Must be 18 years of age or olderExperience: No experience necessary. Employees will be trained.
