We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).Schwab’s Personal Trust Services organization provides personal trust products and services to Schwab clients, including individual investors, beneficiaries, registered investment advisors, and corporate fiduciaries. As a Trust Settlement Officer, you will play a meaningful fiduciary role in helping guide the trust settlement process after the death of a grantor or beneficiary, ensuring assets are collected, reviewed, documented, and distributed in alignment with governing documents, applicable requirements, and firm procedures.In this role, you will manage complex settlement activities that require sound judgment, careful interpretation of legal documents, strong organization, and clear communication with beneficiaries, estate attorneys, executors, personal representatives, tax partners, trust officers, and internal teams. Your ability to assess information, solve problems, prioritize competing deadlines, and collaborate across stakeholders will directly support timely trust closures, accurate administration, and a positive client and beneficiary experience.You will also help coordinate tax-related activities, beneficiary communications, distribution planning, receipt and release documentation, discretionary memorandums, account reviews, asset disposition, and other trust termination efforts. Success in this role requires adaptability, accountability, attention to detail, and a service-oriented mindset as you navigate sensitive family, legal, tax, and fiduciary matters with professionalism and care.What you haveRequired qualifications:5+ years of experience in personal trust administration or legal estates practiceBachelor’s degree or higherStrong knowledge of trust administration principles and practical experience administering trust accountsAbility to read, interpret, and explain wills, trusts, and other legal documentsStrong understanding of estate, gift, and GST tax provisions, including funding formulasDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, documentation quality, and follow-throughStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with beneficiaries, estate attorneys, executors, personal representatives, tax partners, and internal stakeholdersPreferred qualifications:Experience administering trusts governed by Delaware and Nevada lawExperience with inherited IRAs and trusteed IRAsExperience preparing or coordinating estate notices, tax filings, receipt and release documents, and trust termination documentationAbility to apply sound decision-making and risk mitigation practices when reviewing trust activity, distribution plans, asset disposition, and fiduciary mattersStrong organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills in a complex trust, estate, legal, or financial services environmentAbility to collaborate across trust, tax, legal, operations, and client-facing teams while adapting to changing prioritiesSelf-starter mindset with the ability to move work forward independently and support special projects as neededIn addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.#SchwabBTSjobsJob SummaryRequisition ID: 2026-125038Posted Date: 8 hours ago(8/12/2026 3:21 PM)Category: Financial Planning/AdviceSalary Range: USD $85,000.00 - $145,000.00 / YearApplication deadline: 8/19/2026Position Type: Full time
