Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.Duties & ResponsibilitiesTaking Patient Vital SignsTaking Medical HistoriesPreparing Patients for Medical Tests and ExaminationsAssisting Physicians During ExaminationsExplaining Medical Procedures to PatientsSterilizing Medical InstrumentsRemoving SuturesCalling or electronic entering Prescriptions into PharmaciesPreparing Patients for X-RaysAdministering Topical, Oral, or Intramuscular MedicationsTranscribing all notes and documents related to treatments.Other duties as assignedTravel to clinics within the region as needed for business operation or staffing coverage requirements.Education and Professional ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED equivalentCertification as a Medical Assistant or diploma from an accredited school is highly preferred.A minimum of one year experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinic, physician practice or urgent care settingProfessional CompetenciesStrong knowledge of medical correspondence, managing electronic medical recordsExcellent customer service skillsExperience as a Phlebotomist is desirable but not required.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsTeam player, able to work with provider and other team members of the care team.Bilingual (English and Spanish)As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we welcome and employ a diverse employee group committed to meeting the needs of NeueHealth, our consumers, and the communities we serve.
