Assistant Event Manager

Once Upon an Island | Weekends + some weekdays Some people have a gift for making an event feel effortless. Once Upon an Island creates magical experiences for children and families, and we’re seeking part-time Assistant Events Manager to help bring those experiences to life. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who loves exceptional service, thoughtful event execution, and work that makes a meaningful difference. What you’ll do Your primary focus will be leading and supporting events, both at Once Upon an Island and at off‑site locations. You’ll: Welcome and check in cast members, brief them on the event, and ensure everyone understands their role, responsibilities, and timing. Support and guide the cast throughout the event, keeping the team organized, prepared, and confident. Execute the event design and oversee the details that uphold our standards—from presentation and setup to pacing and guest experience. Work directly with parents so they feel welcomed, supported, and well cared for throughout their celebration. Anticipate needs, solve problems calmly, and keep the experience running smoothly. Support our Director of Operations with inventory, cast coordination, scheduling, and other event‑related tasks. Who would thrive here You may have a background in theme parks, hospitality, live entertainment, or event management. You understand that exceptional service comes from both warm personal attention and careful execution. You’re dependable, observant, comfortable leading a team, and willing to jump in wherever needed. You can hold a high standard while making people feel supported—and stay composed when several things need your attention at once. Weekend availability is essential, along with availability for some weekday work. This is a part‑time position, with most of your work taking place before and during events.
