APP (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant)- Lactation Medicine- PT 20 Weekly Hours- (10 hour) Days

Job Summary Part‑time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Certified Nurse Midwife) with expertise in Lactation Medicine and Breastfeeding Care to deliver comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management across maternal and infant care. The APP works closely with a lactation and breast health surgeon in a specialized practice, practicing with a high degree of autonomy and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities Independently evaluate and manage patients with lactation and breastfeeding concerns. Conduct comprehensive maternal and infant assessments related to feeding, milk production, breast health, and breastfeeding goals. Diagnose and manage conditions such as mastitis, breast abscesses, plugged ducts, galactoceles, nipple and breast pain, hyperlactation, low milk supply, lactation failure, engorgement, nipple trauma, breastfeeding‑related infections, weaning concerns, and postpartum breast conditions. Develop individualized, evidence‑based treatment plans and prescribe medications or therapeutic interventions as appropriate. Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic studies including breast ultrasound, mammography, laboratory tests, and other imaging as indicated. Coordinate care with primary care providers, pediatricians, obstetricians, maternal‑fetal medicine specialists, lactation consultants, radiologists, and surgical specialists. Partner with the supervising breast surgeon for integrated, multidisciplinary care, including case review, treatment planning, and referral for surgical consultation when necessary. Contribute to the development and growth of the specialized lactation medicine program. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution (for PAs hired after July1,2012); for PAs hired earlier, this requirement does not apply. Graduate of an accredited PA program recognized by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (for PA candidates). NPs and CNMs must hold valid state licensure and be board‑certified in their specialty. State licensure as a Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, or Certified Nurse Midwife, with current BLS and DEA certifications. Clinical experience or training in lactation medicine and breastfeeding care. Strong clinical knowledge of maternal breast conditions and infant feeding challenges. Ability to independently assess, diagnose, treat, and prescribe within scope of practice. Compensation and Benefits Base pay: $89.01–$117.94 per hour, dependent on experience, education, and specialization.
