Allied Technician - Sterile Processing Tech (SPT)

Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) to join our Sterile Processing Unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in sterile processing and a commitment to safety and excellence in patient care.

Shift Information

• Shift Type: Evenings
• Shift Length: 10 hours
• Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts, rotating days off
• Call Requirement: Every 7-8 weeks, total of 48 hours (24 hours each on Saturday and Sunday)

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Operating Room (OR)
• Department Coverage: 9 suites
• Common Procedures: Ortho, Spine, Robotics, General Surgery, Urology, Gynecology, ENT

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly, decontamination, and sterilization of surgical instruments
• Utilize ultrasonic cleaning, decontamination processes, and assembly techniques
• Ensure compliance with safety standards in the processing of surgical instruments
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization and processing activities

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in sterile processing
• Required Certifications:
  • BLS (AHA)
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) via HSPA or CBSPD
• Proficiency in utilizing VPRO technology for sterilization

Orientation and Training

New hires will receive orientation specific to the unit. It is mandatory for clinicians to be in-state for the entire week of orientation, even if some initial modules are completed remotely.
