Ravenel Associates is an established company specializing in regime and homeowner association management in the Charleston area. We are a small, privately owned company and pride ourselves on connecting with our communities.

A professionally managed residential community in Mt. Pleasant is seeking a professional and organized Neighborhood Design Coordinatorto support the communitys design review committee and assist homeowners, builders, architects, and contractors with the neighborhood design review process.

This is temp-to-hire, part-time position.

A Design Coordinator helps manage the review process for exterior changes, renovations, new construction, and other property improvements within a community. This person serves as the main point of contact for applicants, coordinates committee reviews, communicates requirements and decisions, maintains records, and helps ensure projects follow the communitys architectural standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Respond to design review inquiries from residents, builders, architects, and contractors.
• Guide homeowners and applicants through the design review process.
• Process applications, forms, standards, and submittals.
• Survey the neighborhood for projects requiring approval.
• Attend and facilitate committee meetings on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
• Prepare meeting minutes and decision letters.
• Maintain organized records for applications, approvals, variances, and related documents.
• Provide monthly reports and help improve the design review process.
• Assist with homeowner, builder, and architect education regarding design review requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Professional and diplomatic customer service skills.
• Ability to work with homeowners, builders, architects, staff, committees, and board members.
• Working knowledge of residential design or construction preferred.
• Ability to read construction plans is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to manage records and use data management software.

Schedule

This is a 28-hour-per-week position. Attendance is required at afternoon committee meetings on the first and third Tuesday of each month, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
