Keeping in line with the YMCA's four core values, YMCA swimmers and their families are expected to be caring, honest, respectful and responsible, exemplifying the ideals set forth by the YMCA's founders. The YMCA is looking for an enthusiastic, fun, outgoing individual to fill the role of a Swim Team Coach. Responsibilities will include, working with other members of the YMCA coaching staff, season plans for our various programs (in water and dry-land training), and attending swim meets/team functions. Weekend availability is a must due to swim meet schedules along with a means to travel (most meets are in Phoenix)

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A SWIM TEAM COACH:

Spend your days by the pool. Have fun coaching young swim team participants at meets and practices. Prepare for practices to meet the needs of levels being coached. Builds effective, authentic relationships with swimmers and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Serves as a role model to participants while creating positive last memories. *This is not an exhaustive list of job duties. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned.

REQUIREMENTS TO BE A SWIM TEAM COACH :

Minimum age of 18. A passion for teaching others with demonstrated swim coach skills in accordance with the YMCA standards. One or more years of experience swimming in or coaching for competitive swim teams. A friendly, enthusiastic attitude. Observant, safety conscious, and able to react calmly and quickly in an emergency.
