Meriden, CT | On-site

Join the team in Central Connecticut, where you'll collaborate with talented engineering professionals on impactful infrastructure projects. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity with occasional remote flexibility when necessary.

Note

We're seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer with 5+ years of directly relevant water resources engineering experience, including hydrology and hydraulics. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required. Candidates must reside in Connecticut and be able to commute to our Meriden office daily.

Job Description

• Lead hydraulic engineering and water resources design for municipal, state, and federally funded infrastructure projects.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, including river and bridge hydraulics, scour evaluations, flood studies, and drainage assessments.
• Develop effective stormwater management solutions and perform storm and sanitary sewer modeling.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, design plans, specifications, and environmental permitting documentation.
• Utilize industry-standard engineering software to develop accurate, efficient water resources designs.
• Oversee technical aspects of engineering projects, ensuring quality, compliance, and successful delivery.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Support project planning, construction administration, and the development of junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional water resources engineering experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Strong experience in hydrology and hydraulics, drainage design, flood studies, or stormwater management.
• Experience preparing hydraulic analyses, engineering calculations, and technical design documentation.
• Proficiency with relevant engineering software such as HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, SWMM, HY-8, StormCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or Bentley MicroStation is preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, particularly Connecticut licensure, but not required.
• Experience with municipal infrastructure, transportation projects, bridge hydraulics, or environmental permitting is a plus.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage technical responsibilities independently.
