Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land is actively seeking an experienced Automotive Title Clerk to join our growing team. We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with prior automotive dealership experience who understands title processing, registration compliance, and dealership accounting procedures.

COMPENSATION

$24.00 $36.00 per hour based on experience, qualifications, and dealership background.

Our compensation package is designed to be highly competitive and approximately 20% above the local market for qualified Title Clerks with dealership experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Automotive Title Clerk is responsible for processing all vehicle title and registration transactions, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, ensuring accurate documentation, and supporting dealership accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have prior dealership experience and possess a strong understanding of title processing procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Process all new and used vehicle registrations and title applications.

Prepare tax, title, and registration documentation accurately and timely.

Submit title paperwork to the appropriate state agencies and Department of Motor Vehicles.

Verify payoff information and ensure lienholders are properly satisfied.

Review all deal paperwork for accuracy and completeness.

Process dealer trades and prepare Certificates of Origin.

Maintain records of outstanding titles and resolve title discrepancies.

Monitor and verify out-of-state title transactions.

Process vehicle warranties and extended service contracts.

Prepare stock cards and post vehicle sales and purchases.

Maintain title schedules and provide status updates to management.

Assist with dealer tag renewals and registration compliance.

Maintain organized filing systems and title records.

Stay current on title regulations and dealership compliance requirements.

Support accounting and finance departments with title-related documentation.

Cross-train with other administrative personnel as needed.

Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.

Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 2 years of automotive dealership title clerk experience required.

Luxury dealership experience preferred.

Strong understanding of Texas title and registration procedures.

Experience processing new and used vehicle transactions.

Knowledge of dealership accounting systems and deal processing.

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Professional communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and dealership management systems.

High school diploma or equivalent required.
