Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDoctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.Lead the pharmacy operations at a new behavioral health facility opening in Independence, Missouri, as the Director of Pharmacy (DOP)/Pharmacist in Charge (PIC). This contract role begins between April 27th and May 4th and provides a unique opportunity to shape pharmacy services from the ground up until a permanent hire is in place.Key Responsibilities:Oversee the pharmacy setup and operations in an inpatient behavioral health settingCollaborate with nursing staff to order medications and manage inventoryStock Omnicell automation systems and ensure efficient use of technologyDevelop and implement pharmacy policies and procedures aligned with best practicesManage daily workflows ensuring compliance with regulatory standardsProvide on-call support during evenings and weekends as neededCommunicate progress and updates regularly through weekly calls and emailsDesired Experience and Qualifications:Must hold an active Missouri pharmacist license in good standingProven experience in inpatient behavioral health pharmacy practiceFamiliarity with order entry systems such as HCS or Cerner preferredExperience working with Omnicell automation systems advantageousStrong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to adapt in a new facility environmentAbility to work independently without technician supportSchedule:Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, plus on-call coverageWeekend on-call support onlyThis position offers an outstanding chance to lead pharmacy services for a new behavioral hospital, requiring a flexible, proactive professional ready to establish efficient operations from the start.
