Job Description Starting Date: Aug 4, 2026 Reports To: Principal Supervises: May coordinate and direct the activities of teacher assistants. Purpose: To plan, organize and present instruction and instructional environments that help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development. Major Function: Management of Instructional Time – Ensure materials, supplies and equipment are ready at the start of each lesson, begin class quickly, bring students on task promptly, and maintain a high level of student time‑on‑task. Major Function: Management of Student Behavior – Establish rules and procedures for routine administration, verbal participation, movement, and transitions; monitor behavior, address inappropriate conduct promptly while maintaining student dignity. Major Function: Instructional Presentation – Review previous material, introduce objectives, speak fluently, present concepts clearly, provide relevant examples, assign tasks with high success rates, ask appropriate questions, maintain brisk pace, handle transitions smoothly, and summarize main points. Major Function: Instructional Monitoring of Student Performance – Set clear work standards, circulate to check performance, use oral and written products to monitor progress, and pose questions one at a time. Major Function: Instructional Feedback – Provide timely feedback on in‑class work, reinforce correct responses, and give sustaining feedback on incorrect or missing responses through probing or additional time. Major Function: Facilitating Instruction – Maintain an instructional plan aligned with curriculum goals, use assessment data to revise objectives, document student progress, and utilize available resources to support instruction. Major Function: Interacting Within the Educational Environment – Treat all students fairly, and interact effectively with students, co‑workers, parents, and community. Major Function: Performing Non‑Instructional Duties – Carry out non‑instructional duties as assigned, adhere to laws and policies, and pursue professional development. Additional Job Functions: Performs other related work as required. Minimum Training and Experience: Degree in education or a related area that qualifies for licensure as a teacher by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Minimum Qualifications or Standards: Physical Requirements: Ability to use various equipment, lift/carry, and stand/walk, consistent with light work. Data Conception: Compare and judge functional, structural characteristics of data or people. Interpersonal Communication: Speak, signal, and receive instructions. Language Ability: Read and prepare correspondence, reports, forms, and instructional materials. Intelligence: Apply logical thinking, interpret instructions, and analyze variables. Verbal Aptitude: Record, deliver, and explain information, including technical terminology. Numerical Aptitude: Use formulas, basic arithmetic, and statistical principles. Form/Spatial Aptitude: Inspect items for size and shape. Motor Coordination: Coordinate hands and eyes in using office equipment. Manual Dexterity: Handle office tools with minimal coordination. Color Discrimination: Differentiate colors and shades. Interpersonal Temperament: Adapt under stress and emergency situations. Physical Communication: Talk and hear, including telephone use. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Constantly monitor student safety and well‑being, especially in inclusive activities. Motivate students. Maintain a clean, orderly environment and perform general clerical duties. Maintain order and discipline in the classroom. Operate common office machines and maintain basic files. Follow oral and written instructions. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Position Type: Full‑Time Salary: $4,510 to $7,500 Per Month Job Requirements Bachelor degree preferred.
