Job Title: Bank Loan Analyst I

Duration: 12 months

Location: Downers Grove, IL

Schedule: Hybrid (onsite 4 days/week)

Pay Rate: $40–$45/hour, depending on experience

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Bank Loan Analyst I to support the Bank Loan Oversight and Administration Team at a leading global investment management organization.

This role supports portfolio management and investment teams by handling investment reporting, trade support, trade settlement coordination, data analysis, and portfolio data quality. The analyst will work closely with traders, trade counterparties, agent banks, internal reporting teams, and legal and compliance teams to ensure accurate and timely investment operations.

Important: This role focuses on the bank loan asset class within capital markets and investment operations, including syndicated leveraged loans and structured credit. It is not a traditional commercial banking or retail lending position.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver scheduled reports for investment teams, internal stakeholders, legal and compliance teams, and external clients.
\n
• Support traders by ensuring investment trading activity is accurately entered and recorded in a timely manner.
\n
• Coordinate trade closing and settlement activities with internal trading teams, trade counterparties, and agent banks.
\n
• Assist with trade support and operational activities related to syndicated bank loans and investment portfolios.
\n
• Collect, analyze, and validate data from multiple internal and external sources to support bank loan portfolio operations.
\n
• Maintain data quality, accuracy, and integrity across critical investment and portfolio information.
\n
• Perform reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and support timely resolution of data and reporting issues.
\n
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflows and high-quality service to internal and external clients.
\n
• Support reporting improvements, operational documentation, system transitions, and process enhancements as needed.
\n

Required Qualifications

\n
• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
\n
• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience preferred.
\n
• Experience in investment operations, asset management, fund administration, institutional banking, syndicated loans, or structured finance is strongly preferred.
\n
• Understanding of the bank loan asset class, syndicated loans, securities markets, and investment fund operations.
\n
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills; experience with Microsoft Access is beneficial.
\n
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively with a team.
\n

Preferred Experience

\n
• Hands-on experience with Wall Street Office (WSO), Allvue/Everest, ClearPar, LoanIQ, Solvas, or similar loan administration and investment operations platforms.
\n
• Experience with bank loan trade processing, trade settlement, and coordination with agent banks or trade counterparties.
\n
• Exposure to collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), collateralized debt obligations (CDOs), structured credit, or syndicated leveraged loan portfolios.
\n
• Experience with investment reporting, portfolio data reconciliation, data validation, and scheduled reporting deliverables.
\n
• Experience supporting system conversions, platform migrations, business integrations, or operational process improvements.
\n

Important Candidate Screening Criteria

Candidates must have relevant investment operations or capital markets experience involving bank loans or closely related structured finance activities.

The following backgrounds alone are not suitable for this position:

• Residential mortgage processing, underwriting, or closing.
\n
• SBA lending or consumer lending.
\n
• Auto loan processing.
\n
• General commercial loan processing without capital markets or investment operations experience.
\n
• Traditional commercial banking roles without exposure to syndicated loans, investment portfolios, or structured finance.
\n

Candidates with relevant structured finance reporting, investment operations analytics, reconciliation, data validation, and system transition experience may also be considered.

Working Conditions

• Full-time contract assignment for 12 months.
\n
• Onsite attendance required four days per week in Downers Grove, Illinois.
\n
• Standard working hours apply, with occasional evening or weekend work depending on business needs.
